Camp Cairn & Camp Discovery

Camp Cairn

June 21-23, 2024

Camp Cairn is a FREE weekend bereavement camp for children and students ages 6-17, who are grieving the death of a close family member. Campers participate in traditional camp activities combined with grief education and emotional support, led by licensed counselors / social workers and trained volunteers.

Camp Cairn derives its name from “cairns” that have been used for hundreds of years to mark a trail or path. These cairns represent a trail marker that guides one through uncertain times in life. At Camp Cairn, each camper has the opportunity to remember and celebrate his or her loved one and to connect with other children and students who have experienced loss.

Camp Cairn was developed as a “focus camp” by Woodland in order to meet the needs of grieving children and students in our community.
